"Mum, are we safe," she whispered. She was scared, but she had to be strong. In less then a month the seven-year-old had to grow up. The terrors she had seen, when her dad was eaten by her little brother.
"It's going to be just fine," her mum said. The light was still on, but she couldn't bare to turn of the light, and make her little girl even more frightened. The zombie's couldn't come there, all ways in and out where blocked.
The little girl stood up and looked through the window. "There's a girl out there, mummy!" She looked at her mum. "We have to help her!" The woman also looked out of the window.
She took the head of the person she wouldn't let go of in her hands. "Sweety," she said softly, "it's to late for her." It hurt her, but wouldn't lie to the last person on earth she loved, not any longer. The truth was hard, but the world was hard, and the only way her little girl would live, was make her grow up fast.
Suddenly there was a big noise outside. The woman gasped, while the girl started crying. "Shh," the woman whispered, but the girl was to frightened. "It's fine." She wanted to cry and scream, but needed to be strong, because she was the woman her daughter looked up too.
"I am scared, mum."
"I know. I know, sweety." A hand broke through the door. It had a weird greenish color. "But you need to be strong now, okay?" Her daughter nodded. She took her in her arms and lifted her from the ground. She knew there was no chance of escaping. "Remember that I love you."
"I love you too, mummy."
Tears streamed from the woman's cheeks. She opened the window, while another few limbs came through the door. "What are you doing?" the girl said, full of fear.
"Saving you from the same faith as the faith of them." That was the last thing the girl would hear, because then her mother let her fall from the window. The woman cried, because she killed her daughter, but it was better then let the undead get her. She closed her eyes.
First she felt the pain, then nothing.

The building was empty, but there was still a person. She didn't knew why she was there, but she knew it wasn't over. The monsters had taken her mom. She was hurt on her head, but that didn't bare. The seven-year-old turned around and got a piece of shattered glass from the ground. "It's going to be just fine," she said.
